Community Credit Union

We provide a savings and loan service for anyone who lives or works in Burnley. The Credit Union is a democratically run co-operative providing a confidential and competitive alternative to mainstream banks and high street, high interest loan providers. It is a not-for-profit organisation which keeps money re-circulating in the local economy. Savings are guaranteed by the Financial Services Authority. Savings and loans up to £7500 with BACCU attract free life insurance.

Our principal services are:

Savings: Member’s deposits are held in a share account, and an annual dividend is paid on these shares.
Instant withdrawals up to £100 are available from our main office in Parker Lane.
Pre-paid Debit cards are now available.
Holiday and Xmas account: Save for these special occasions.
Junior Accounts: for members up to 16 years of age.
Personal Loans: available to members over 18 years of age. Amounts small or large can be borrowed. Terms and conditions apply.
Loan Interest at competitive rates is paid on the reducing balance of the loan, and interest rates are lower for the larger loans – significantly less than credit card rates, and much less than high street providers such as Provident or Brighthouse.
Flexicredit: This works like an overdraft. Established members with a good track record may apply to have a credit limit on the basis of making regular payments into the account.
Green Loans – for energy efficient appliances or home improvements.
